Korisu (also known as the Amal festival) is an ancient tradition that has been preserved among the Kazakhs of the Western region of Kazakhstan and the border regions of Russia.
Residents of the region who celebrate the New Year according to the Baibakta Kazybek calendar also call March 14 the day of "Korisu" (i.e. konyshu).
On this day, villagers get up early and greet older people from Yelen Square.
A neighbor-friend says to each other: "with age!", "Be young and live long!" says desire.
On the day of the meeting, former grievances are forgiven, enmity is forgotten, a neighbor-tom invites each other to dinner, wishes the family of guests, brothers and sisters well-being and prosperity.
